Built in 1915, the building was built for Jacob Epstein (the donor of the BMA’s crown jewel, Van Dyck’s Rinaldo and Armida) and was designed by local architect Joseph Evans Sperry. The latter also designed the Enoch Pratt Library Hampden Branch and the Bromo Seltzer Art Tower, both in Baltimore. The 52 thousand square feet of open warehouse space on the eighth floor offers panoramic views of Baltimore’s iconic skyline, Orioles’ and Ravens’ stadiums, and the harbor.
Access to BFAPF is easy by car, Uber, or Lyft: a three-level parking garage is attached to the building; visitors enter the building directly from the third level of the garage. Please note: the address for the entrance to the parking garage is 940 Ostend St. It’s a quick elevator ride to the top floor where wonderful art awaits you. Please note the front door is the only ADA accessible entrance. less
